“Art of Invention” is the third installment of Dynast’s “The Vanguard Series” which also includes the highly regarded single “Simple Plan“ and the Chart climbing street single “My Style“. “The Vanguard Series” is a follow up series of songs to Jair Dynast’s critically acclaimed debut album, V.I.A.L.E.N.C.E., that achieved RapReviews Top 10 Album of the Year, along with the #1 single on the Top 30 Grassroots Hip Hop Charts with the single “Vicious“.

February 27th Special Performance Invitation: After an extremely successful performance and workshop for students at Winston Churchill C.I. on February 3rd, Jair Dynast was asked to come back by special invitation to perform as part of the school’s full assembly celebrations by the students and organizers for African Heritage Month. Jair Dynast set it off with his popular single “Art of Invention” bringing thunderous applause from the crowd of students from several schools in attendance. He signed several autographs and took numerous photos with fans.
February 20th Opening Acts: Jair Dynast was again the opening act as the TDSB celebrated “Artists with an Edge” with performances from socially conscious artists of African Heritage to a full assembly of students at Vaughan Road Academy. Jair Dynast got the crowd open with his popular single “Art of Invention” bringing thunderous applause from the crowd of students from several schools in attendance. He signed several autographs and took numerous photos with fans.
Jair was in the company of well known spoken-word performer, Dwayne Morgan among other well known local performers, such as Kid Famous as part of President of UMAC, musical play, “The Corner”. Students were very engaged and had lots of questions afterwards.

February 25th Performance: Jair Dynast moved from Central Tech to a Harbord Collegiate approximately a block away to give another performance which included Jair Dynast’s new smash single “My Style” along with the family history banger “My People“, his new joint “2 Fly” and the popular single “Art of Invention” and deliver the keynote address to the student body. At Harbord, Jair warmed up the students with his A Cappella using words that begin with “IN” as an INTRO to his speech and the performance that followed was very engaging as was evident by the thunderous applause from the students. Many students came up to Jair afterwards for pictures and autographs. A cast of students provided their own intruguing program of entertainment for fellow students in celebration of African Heritage Month.
As a continuing part of Black History Month in Toronto area high schools, Jair Dynast met with students at Birchmount Collegiate on February 18th to perform “Art of Invention“ that is fast becoming a hit with the students. Students immediately identify with Jair’s compelling story and the catchy lyrics to the song and are singing along as he performs it.
When Jair Dynast was in school Black History Month meant someone would come in and speak for a few minutes and then walk out the door.
Now 31, the recording artist is using his music and experience to connect with young people and make them think. Partnering with the TDSB, Dynast is visiting different schools across the city to perform songs that touch on the topics of peer pressure, violence and history.
“I’m younger and I can relate,” says Dynast. “I come from the same neighbourhood they come from, I’m dealing with the same sort of experiences or have dealt with the same experiences.” Dynast grew up in the city’s west end before moving to Scarborough for his senior year in high school. “It’s almost like looking at a mirror image of someone who was them and now here I am doing this.” One of the songs he performsis Art of Invention which talks about various African American inventors that many don’t know about. Dynast leaves behind pamphlets so students can find more information and get kids involved on a different level.
“The response is great especially with The Art of Invention … they really become engaged in the discussion; they ask me a lot of questions,” he said. “To be honest they’re very articulate and intelligent. Even though they’re young, they’re very aware of what’s going on and they have a lot to offer.”
While taking his message to Toronto schools throughout the month, Dynast is working on his third album. His new track, “My Style” is set to hit the airwaves Feb. 24.
